Penticton to Kelowna to Vegas Baby!!!
Headed to Penticton on July 31st, to do a show for a Bachlorette Party, and then the next day in Kelowna for a private show on Aug. 1st, and the following day on the 2nd I would be heading to Bellingham airport to fly to Las Vegas. Lots of Miles put on during this weekend.
I left Vancouver early for Penticton, so I could grab several caches along the way. It turned out, It was a beautiful day with lots of sunshine. A great day for caching!!
There used to be a cache behind the old Hope sign, but must have disapeared when the sign was removed and this new one put in place. Now there is a cache behind the sign but further into the wooded area.
Passing thru Merrit, I took a quick trip down what has been dubbed as "Gadget Alley"
Several caches have been placed on this stretch of road just outside of town and they are all cool gadget caches. Today I found "admit one"
A very cool Gadget cache with a Theatre theme to it.
There was another one there that I have not completed, but it was very smoky due to nearby forest fires, so I headed down the road.
As I write this I just looked at the map and another one has been placed after I came thru here, so now I have 2 more to get on my next trip this way.
On the way to Penticton I swung thru Peachland and I Found a cache at a Giant peach called "Crunchy Peach"
Appearantly it used to be a large golf ball on a Golf Tee (as you can see in the pic below) and they painted it and made it look like a peach.
I believe the golf course is still there and now they sell golf balls with little Peach logos on them.
This was a Virtual Cache in Peachland. I love to search for Virtual caches when I travel. I found two on this trip.
After the show that evening, I headed over to Kelowna to spend the night as I have a walkaround gig the next day.
Got up early and headed over for Breakfast with a fellow Magician that lives in Kelowna. After a nice chat with him, I headed out to do some caches before my gig.
Found one called "KELOWNA"
You can see by the picture where the cache got it's name from. lol
Also grabbed a cache in town called "a bibliophiles bliss" which was a Multi cache ending in the Kelowna Library
The clever title of the book was "How to use Multi-Million Dollar Sattelites to find Tupperware in the Woods"
The clever title of the book was "How to use Multi-Million Dollar Sattelites to find Tupperware in the Woods"
This one was covered in Camo tape, but it wasn't in the woods. LOL
During my quick 2 day trip I found 2 Virtual's, 1 Multi-Cache, 6 Traditionals, 1 Letterbox and I also completed a 5 stage Adventure Lab in Penticton and 6 stages of four different AL's in Kelowna
NOTE: The highlighted or underlined words in my blog can be clicked on as they are links to other cool stuff!! Also if you click on any of the pictures they become BIGGER!!!
VEGAS BABY!!!!
Headed to Las Vegas, the city that never sleeps, A city Built on Sand, Broken Dreams, and $5 Lobster. A city where clocks don't matter but your Credit Card does!! Where money dissapears faster than a Magicians Rabbit!!......Ok actually the lobster is more expensive now!!!
Headed there for "MAGIC LIVE" Magic convention. We drove down early to Bellingham airport where I was able to complete a 5 stage Adventure Lab right in the Airport. (How cool is that)
We arrived in Vegas and headed straight to the "Orleans Hotel" which would be our home for the next 6 days.
The convention was four days long and we did not even have to leave the hotel during those 4 days. (Ok, we did go across the street once to the convienience store as Liquor is cheaper there. Lol)
On our last full day there we rented a car and headed out to the desert, as I wanted to take the guys to "Seven Magic Mountains"
I was able to grab a Virtual and a Traditional Cache while there. Some new ones since my last visit.
(I knew I would not get many caches on this trip, as I was busy with my Magician friends I traveled with)
This was my fourth trip out to see these Magnificent rock statues.
We stopped into the Town of Goodsprings, where I took the guys to the "Goodsprings Saloon"
This Saloon was built in 1913 and is one of the oldest Bars in the State of Nevada.
This is the Ammo Can Cache that lives in the Bar. If you ask your server or the bartender for it, they will gladly let you have it so you can log it. I have already found and logged it as this was my third time coming here, but I wanted to show the guy's, what a cache looks like.
We then headed over to Hoover Dam, where it was 47 degrees Celsius......ouch, that's HOT!!!
The water level is dangerously low right now as you can see by the picture.
We then headed back to the Las Vegas strip to see the show "Absinthe" which was a very cool and risque Cirque du Soleil show. After the show, we headed to Fremont street for a bit and then back to the hotel to pack for the trip home in the morning. A great trip and super fun!!
In total on this trip I found 1 Traditional, 1 Virtual, and 10 stages of 3 different Adventure Labs at Hoover Dam and 3 stages of an Adventure Lab at Goodsprings, plus the AL in Bellingham.
Lots more fun and caches in Las Vegas.....I will return!!!

Grabbed a few caches this weekend and recieved a Virtual Souvineer for International Geocaching Day.
Also headed to a Lunch event close by. Nice to chat with other cachers while having a bite to eat.
Next month, I have shows and trips all over, and I will be grabbing some select caches.....But more about that in Next months Blog....
Well that's it for this month!!
Keep on Caching
